Tarkan is unknown in Spain
I've been wondering, why Tarkan is not known in Spain? How come, since he's very famous in the rest of Europe? And how could this situation be changed? Yolanda, from Spain, explains the reason for this, and she also wants to invite all the spanish people to try Tarkan's music.
My name is Yolanda, and I'm from Madrid, Spain. I love Tarkan very much. I find Tarkan's mix of western and eastern music to be great. I met Tarkan's music in the north of France. In the french region of Lorraine there is a huge turkish population, so I am not surprised Tarkan is so famous there. The day he went to Turkey to begin his military service, the french television broadcasted a report about the event. When I returned
to Spain, I was surprised Tarkan was unknown here. I began This may be the reason Tarkan's record company didn't promote his album here. I don't think the problem is Tarkan's oriental roots, because we know artists like Khaled or Hakim. I think it was the negative influence of J. Abellán, who didn't have the right to despise Simarik in such way. I've written to different shows and magazines, asking to give Tarkan a chance, telling them how famous he is worldwide, and asking them to visit some Tarkan web sites, so they could learn more about him. I also posted my opinion in some music related sites. I hope they change their minds, and begin appreciating Tarkan. I also want to deliver an important message to all the spanish people out there: I want to invite you to know this great artist.
